Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is Chronos?
Chronos is a mobile app that teaches world history through short lessons, quizzes and nine courses in chronological order, from the first humans to the end of the twentieth century.
How does Chronos help me learn world history?
Every course is a path of modules and lessons. You read a short lesson, answer questions along the way and watch your progress grow from one course to the next, so each period connects to the one before it.
Is Chronos suitable for beginners?
Yes. No prior knowledge is needed, only curiosity. The first course starts with the first humans and explains each step as it goes.
What historical periods does Chronos cover?
The Dawn of Humanity, The Ancient World, The Middle Ages, Exploration and Empires, The Age of Revolutions, The Industrial Age, The World Wars, The Cold War, The End of the Millennium. Together they run from the earliest humans to the turn of the millennium.
How do the quizzes work?
Questions appear as you move through a lesson, so you check what you have understood while it is still fresh. The quiz on this page is a small taste made for the website: it is not part of the app.
Can I learn history in short daily sessions?
Yes. Lessons are short, a few minutes each, so one a day fits into almost any routine, and the app always shows which lesson comes next.
Do I receive a certificate after completing a course?
Yes. Every course has its own certificate of completion. Finish all the modules of a course and you can issue it in the app as a PDF to keep and share. Certificates are part of the Premium plan.
How many courses are available?
Nine courses, with 381 lessons in total. The shortest has 33 lessons.
Where can I download Chronos?
Chronos is almost ready for the App Store and Google Play. The download buttons will appear on this page as soon as the app is published.
Is Chronos available for iOS and Android?
Yes. Chronos is made for iPhone and for Android phones.
